Competition Rules
Entrant Qualification IOSESC 2006 (the Competition) is open to individuals and teams of individuals (the Contestants and Competing Teams). The Competition is not open to
- Members, consultants and contractors of the Open Source Software Foundry (OSSF) project and their immediate families, and
- Corporate entities, research laboratories and organizations.
Announcements The Competing teams who win in either round agree that the Competition may publicize the descriptions of their work and the names and affiliations of the team members.
Intellectural Property Rights The organizer and sponsors of the Competition have no intellectual property rights of the code (the Software) and related documentations which the Competing Teams wrote and submitted to the Competition.
Licensing Policies Every Competing Team must agree to release the Software and related documentations as open content work: The Team may choose an OSI-approved license for the Software or release the Software in public domain. The team may choose among Creative Common (CC) licenses, FDL (GNU Free Documentation License) and OSI-approved licenses for their documentations or release the documentations into public domain.
Disclaimer of Liability In no event shall the OSSF and other sponsors of the Competition liable to a Contestant for acts or omissions arising out of, or related to, the Competition or the participation by the Contestant in the competition.
